OVERVIEW:
The Senior Financial analyst is responsible for Finance support across several key Marketing investments areas. This includes providing decision support, leading cross-functional financial review, maintaining an accurate Marketing financial forecast, and developing the annual marketing budget.
This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to pivot in a fast-paced environment, the ability to manage large datasets, and a passion for process improvement.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Marketing Budget and Forecast
- Develop the annual marketing budget through strong collaboration across Marketing and Finance, while maintaining alignment with company goals
- Become an expert in the underlying details of the Marketing forecast
- Lead monthly forecast reviews with Marketing partners to identify risks to budget and rebalance investments as strategic priorities shift
- Proactively provide guidance, assist in solving budget challenges, and ensure unused funds are strategically redeployed
- Partner with Marketing and Operations teams to support category campaign planning - ensuring campaign goals are achieved while being cognizant of investments levels.
Business Analytics and Reporting
- Develop and deliver timely, accurate and clear category forecasts to Marketing partners providing transparency into portfolio investments, in a manner that is easy to understand and digest.
- Analyze Marketing administrative expense trends, proactively identify areas of risk and opportunity, and summarize results in executive -level reporting.
- Support executive-level monthly business reviews with reporting on YoY spend by category, media by channel, and key ratios.
Other Ad Hoc
- Assist the Marketing teams with ad to sales analysis, historical expense views and other requested analytics primarily related to the performance DSG’s Vertical Brands
- Identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy and reporting efficiencies through optimization
- Identify and implement process improvements
