Position Summary
The Senior BI Engineer is responsible for the governance, development, and maintenance of enterprise reporting and analytics solutions across the health plan, delivery system, and shared services departments. This role oversees the design and management of Power BI semantic models, datasets, and reporting structures that support consistent, governed, and scalable analytics. The Senior BI Engineer works closely with data architecture, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure reporting assets are accurate, reliable, and aligned with organizational standards. The position also provides technical leadership in Power BI development practices and supports enterprise adoption of self‑service analytics.
Job Description
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads the migration of legacy reporting platforms (e.g., Cognos, Tableau, SSRS) to Power BI, ensuring continuity, accuracy, and performance.
- Designs and implement robust semantic models and data sets to support self-service analytics and standardized reporting across clinical, operational, and financial domains.
- Establishes and enforce Power BI governance standards, including workspace architecture, data security, and lifecycle management.
- Partners with data architecture and engineering teams to ensure optimized data pipelines and integration with enterprise data warehouses or data lakes.
