The Department of Urology is seeking a Business Analyst who will be responsible for key business analysis and deliverables and will prioritize competing demands to meet required deadlines. The Business Analyst will produce high-quality reports and present complex information to colleagues and the Department of Urology leadership.
The analyst will be responsible for Urology inpatient, OR, and ambulatory practice management analysis, reporting, project management, business planning, and program development across the Brady Urological Institute. The analyst functions as an advisor to the Administrators, Faculty, and Department Chair in tactical planning for the Department. The analyst conducts regular performance measurements, analyses, and reports them to the Administrators, faculty, and Chair. The position also monitors data to provide meaningful feedback and identify trends to improve practice performance and align operations with the needs of ambulatory patient care. Under the direction of the administrator, the analyst develops business and operational plans, with an emphasis on procedural and ambulatory clinical programs, to support Institutional strategic goals. This position reports directly to the administrator and receives direction on data analytics projects and initiatives from the finance and operations team. As a team member, they will identify and execute opportunities to improve efficiency, enhance clinical operations, and strengthen associated compliance requirements.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Use various methodologies (e.g., Business Process Management (BPM), Lean, Six Sigma, Agile) to approach typical and complex situations and adapt to changing circumstances and new requirements.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews related to data analysis, data interpretation, and process design to identify, recommend, and solve business problems.
- Construct and/or lead data analysis by ensuring efficient data collection, instructing analytical choices, conducting research and summarizing conclusions and recommendations to produce high-quality deliverables.
- Coordinate activities to complete assigned work efficiently, which includes delegating and using appropriate project and divisional resources.
- Collaborate closely with program managers and functional leads and other team members to develop deliverables, briefings, presentation and workshop materials, infographics, analyses, etc.
- Establish knowledge of financial, business, and technological practices across the university to effectively support projects.
- Assess change readiness among stakeholders identifying and helping mitigate implementation barriers and risks as needed.
