Role

The Business Analyst is responsible for gathering, analyzing, documenting, and validating business requirements across business lines. Research and recommend solution alternatives that best align with organizational and project objectives. Develop clear functional requirements documentation, including inputs, processes, and outputs, to enable technical teams to design and deliver effective solutions that meet user needs. May perform limited programming or technical analysis as required

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Serve as a primary resource for departmental programming requests by analyzing and interpreting the business unit’s needs. Research and recommend alternatives that more effectively meet the business objectives. Review, analyze and evaluate business systems and user needs. Serve as a resource for corporate projects.

Create and maintain detailed descriptions of the business unit’s needs, program functions and steps required to develop or modify programs. Translate documents into functional design. Create documentation/diagrams describing project workflow and information. Collaborate with other analysts and programmers on a regular basis to implement new and revised functionality.

Assist in the testing of third party software and development.

Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Knowledge and Skills

Experience -Β Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.

Education/Certifications/Licenses -Β A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school equivalent to approximately 64 credit hours.

Interpersonal Skills -A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.

Physical Requirements -Β While performing duties of the job, employee may be required to use frequent physical activities include sitting, standing, reaching, walking, talking, bending, and constant use of hands. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Employee must occasionally work before/after the regular work shift or on weekends. These activities are not necessarily performed to the same degree and combination every day.

Working Conditions -Β Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Mental and/or Emotional Requirements -Β Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations with extreme accuracy. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
