    Guidance Data Specialist � Level IV

    Location: Lafayette Jefferson High School

    Position Summary

    The Guidance Data Specialist supports the Guidance Department and school administration by managing student data, enrollment records, scheduling functions, and academic records. This position ensures the accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity of student information while providing professional support in a fast-paced high school office environment.

    Position Details

    • FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
    • Work Schedule: 12 Months, Full-Time
    • Hours: 7:00 a.m. � 3:30 p.m. (Some flexibility possible)
    • Starting Rate: $15.83 per hour
    • Benefits: Health, vision, dental, life insurance, clinic access, retirement, and other district benefits
    • Leave & Holidays: 10 vacation days annually; set paid holidays for 12-month employees
    • Reports To: School Counselor / Assistant Principal / Principal

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Student Data and Enrollment Management

    • Assist with student enrollment and withdrawal processes
    • Maintain accurate student records in PowerSchool and related systems
    • Update and verify demographic and academic data
    • Support district and state reporting requirements

    Scheduling and Academic Records

    • Assist with individual student schedules and the master schedule
    • Resolve scheduling conflicts in collaboration with counselors and administrators
    • Assist with grade transcription and verification
    • Support transcript preparation and academic record requests

    Data Management and Office Support

    • Perform accurate data entry and reporting
    • Generate reports and documentation as needed
    • Maintain organized electronic and paper files
    • Communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents

    Professional Collaboration

    • Work independently and as part of a team
    • Provide support during peak enrollment and scheduling periods
    • Maintain professionalism in all interactions

    Other Duties

    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    • High school diploma required
    • Data entry experience preferred
    • Office or school-based experience preferred
    • PowerSchool or student information system experience preferred

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
    • Strong typing and data entry skills
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
    • Self-motivated and detail-oriented

    Working Conditions

    • Standard office environment in a high school setting
    • Prolonged computer use
    • Frequent interaction with students, staff, and the public
    • Periodic high workload during registration and scheduling cycles
