About NCEM:

The mission of North Carolina Emergency Management (NCEM) is to enhance North Carolina's resiliency through active collaboration, communication, and coordination of efficient and effective preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation of all natural and man-made hazards and threats.


About the Administration Section:

The purpose of the Administration Section is to provide effective and efficient support functions for the Division and external customers. These functions include Accounts Payable, Budget, Human Resources, Information Technology, Applications Development/GIS, Preparedness Grants, Compliance, and the Responder Assistance Initiative.

About the Position:

**This position will be 100% in person for at least the first 90 days. After the first 90 days some virtual work will be allowed but the position will report to the Raleigh offices several days a week.**

This position assists the Applications Team with system administration for several web-based applications. Duties include collecting user requirements from end users on IT applications, supporting end users with SRMP and SERA access and providing technical support. This position works closely with the programmers on the application development team and helps translate end user requests into meaningful work objectives. Position also helps test new applications to find bugs, issues and other problems. This position is responsible for documenting routines and creating Standard Operating Procedures.

Management Preferences, including Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs), are not required but may be used to determine the pool of most qualified applicants. Management Preferences:  

  • Experience facilitating techinical trainings to adult professionals

  • Experience collecting user requirements and documenting processes in a technical environment

  • Experience providing technical support to end users

  • Experience testing web based applications for responsive design and browser compatibility

  • Experience maintaining websites using Drupal or a content management system (CMS)

Military Experience
