This position is responsible for maintaining and securing consumer health information records in accordance with Center, State, and Federal standards, rules, and regulations for all Center program areas. Β This position performs routine receipt of records, scanning, and records requests. Β This position assists in monitoring program compliance with Community Standards and other State and Federal rules related to medical records. Β Each task is completed in an organized and consistent manner. Β In addition, this position must promote a professional customer service environment by responding to requests made by internal and external customers in a courteous and respectful manner. Β This position will work cooperatively with the other Medical Records Team staff and the Medical Records Supervisor. Β
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; to reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Β The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, reach and sit. Β The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Β Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Β
Qualifications:
β’High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or Β training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
β’ Prefer a minimum of one (1) year full-time paid experience in clerical work, preferably in medical records.
β’ Strong knowledge of grammar, punctuation, spelling.
β’ Ability to operate basic Microsoft Office, i.e. Word & Excel; strong computer skills.
β’ Knowledge of the copy machines and scanning.Β
β’ Must be able to operate a computer in order to accurately enter data and scan into a database, search for information, send and receive email and attachments and other office equipment preferred.
β’ Have the ability to interpret/follow verbal and written instructions. Β
β’Must have a valid Texas Driverβs License and be an insurable driver. Β
Hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm, flexible.
This is a Full-Time position. Benefits are available.
Will be eligible for a one- and two-year step increase, depending on satisfactory performance.
