DescriptionResponsible for the collection, retrieval, and analysis of data on patients with cancer and certain benign tumors. Responsible for follow-up information and data entry maintaining current knowledge of and disseminating updates from the Commission on Cancer standards. The cancer registry department serves as primary contact providing guidance of activities aimed at achieving and maintaining cancer program accreditations. This includes interpretation and education of new standards, assessment of compliance, identification of opportunities for improvement, and facilitation efforts to achieve and maintain compliance. Initiates and/or coordinates clinical data collection and submits reports using statistical techniques.Β
Schedule
- Full-time | 72 hours per two weeks | Remote
- Days | Monday-Friday | 8am- 4:30pm
Pay and Benefits
- Starting pay begins at $24.59 per hour and increases with experience.

Qualifications
- Educational options:
- Associate Degree from an accredited school of Health Information Technology
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of Health Information Technology
- Associate Degree from an accredited school of Cancer Registry Management
- 1 year experience in Cancer Registry and 2 years experience in healthcare preferred. Β
- Licenses/certification options:
- Oncology Data Specialist Certification (ODS-C) or ODS-C or Β
- Oncology Data Specialist Certification eligible required and certification required within 2 years
- Oncology Data Specialist Certification (ODS-C) and Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferredΒ
- Oncology Data Specialist Certification (ODS-C) and Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferredΒ
- 3 years Oncology Data Specialist (ODS), 3-yearsβ experience in a hospital-based registry preferred.
- EPIC and CRStar experience preferred.
