This position is a critical team member within Risk and Insurance Management (RIM), a university department responsible for organizing, coordinating, and implementing programs to manage risk for all University of Missouri campuses.
The University of Missouri System is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join the RIM team as a Risk Programs Analyst. This position serves as a primary resource supporting the University’s risk programs such as Workers’ Compensation. The role also supports the administration of system-wide insurance programs and contributes to financial processing, reconciliation, compliance reporting, and loss data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for day-to-day administration of the University’s Workers’ Compensation program, including providing guidance to campus stakeholders, coordinating program activities, and acting as liaison with third-party administrators.
- Support financial operations for the University’s insurance and claims programs, including processing payments, tracking transactions, and completing allocations.
- Perform monthly reconciliations between financial and claims systems; identify discrepancies, research causes, and resolve issues. Complete payroll audits and related reporting for insurance carriers as needed.
- Compile and analyze program data to support audits, regulatory reporting, insurance renewals, and leadership decision-making.
- Prepare required state and federal reports and serve as a resource for Medicare reporting compliance.
- Generate and review system reports to identify trends, inconsistencies, and items requiring follow-up.
- Support general program operations, including coordination of documentation, specific certificate requests, and responding to general program inquiries.
Shift
Monday - Friday, 8 am – 5 pm
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
