Job Description

  • Ensure that underlying cost data regarding product profitability is accurate.
  • Review sales quotes for accuracy and reasonableness and report improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor material cost changes and work with purchasing and sales to mitigate impact on product profitability.
  • Ensure that customer sales prices are updated quarterly for material cost changes.
  • Provide accurate reports and analysis to the sales department as directed.
  • Ensure accurate financial analysis to monitor business performance and to make informed decisions.
  • Ensure that cost reduction activities are prioritized based upon data and projected ROI.
  • Ensure that variances from plan and past performance are identified and explained.
  • Make appropriate recommendations based upon interpretation of data and analysis.
  • Provide accurate reports and analysis to operations as directed.
  • Ensure that capital expenditures achieve anticipated ROI as projected on respective capital expenditure requests (CERs)
  • Assist with month end close process as needed.
  • Implement and maintain standards and processes that eliminate waste throughout the department.
  • Apply and utilize β€œlean tools” to permanently implement improvements.
  • Institutionalize 5-S in all aspects of the department. (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain)

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or business management (Required)
  • 2+ years of experience in audit or corporate accounting in a fast paced environment (Required)
  • Manufacturing experience (Required)
  • Masters degree (Preferred)
  • CPA license (Preferred)
  • Change management, process improvement, Lean or Six Sigma (Preferred)
  • Self starter who is collaborative, can balance priorities and has outstanding time management skills
  • Thought leader who is an effective communicator

  • corporate accounting: 2 years
  • Manufacturing: 2 years
  • Financial Analysis: 2 years
  • Process Improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma: 2 years

Required license or certification:

  • CPA
