About this role

Reporting to the Manager, Finance Operations, part of this role will be involved in supporting our Operations and Strategic Initiatives team, managing/forecasting spend and supporting ad-hoc requests for data and operational support.Β 

Under the Finance Operations team, this role will oversee direct reports in procure-to-pay processing, as well as vendor statement and rebate reconciliation for the Grocery Retail pillar. In addition to day to day tasks, the role will gain in-depth knowledge of robotic process automation, work with external and internal stakeholders to solve issues as they arise, and perform month-end closing activities.

In addition to reporting, analysis, and general accounting, this role will be key in the delivery of various automation and efficiency projects through working with our Restaurants, BI, and Technology teams.

Location: Hybrid- 3 days a week from our Toronto or Winnipeg office & 2 days working from home
Reporting to: Manager, Corporate FinanceΒ 

These are some of the key ingredients to the role:Β 

  • Financial Analysis & Growth: Analyze the key drivers of growth and profitability at Skip, understanding their interaction with Partner KPIs.
  • Partner Statement Management: Oversee the weekly restaurant statement cycle, including processing, manual adjustments, and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in reporting under strict deadlines.
  • Month-End & Compliance: Provide support for month-end closing activities, including reviewing journal entries and contributing to financial performance input.
  • Grocery Retail AP & Inventory: Lead Grocery Retail inventory accounts payable, including processing vendor invoices, system reconciliations, and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Vendor Management & Compliance: Oversee vendor statement reconciliations, manage variance analysis, ensure payments are within account terms, and review/set up vendor rebate contracts.
  • Process Automation & Improvement: Review and improve Robot Process Automation (RPA) performance, proactively identifying and driving opportunities for efficiency by testing outcomes and managing support tickets.
  • Strategic Projects: Participate in and lead projects focused on efficiency, automation, strategic alignment, and supporting the launch of new business verticals.

What will you bring to the table?

  • CPA designation with 3-5 years of proven operational experience
  • Logical analytical problem solver that is able to spot trends and indicate the key drivers behind it.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Experience with SQL and/or data analysis tools (Tableau/PowerBI) is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with other departments
  • Highly adaptable and passionate for process optimization and internal controls
  • Understanding of risk and impact of proposed process/policy changes and proposed campaigns.
  • Experience in inventory management systems & Workday Financial is an asset.
