We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst specializing in data analytics for architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) firms. This role focuses on analyzing complex project, financial, and operational data; integrating data from AEC-specific platforms and SaaS systems; and delivering actionable insights through modern analytics solutions.
The ideal candidate combines strong Power BI and data modeling expertise with hands-on experience supporting project-based professional services organizations, and can work effectively with architects, project managers, and leadership to improve visibility, efficiency, and decision-making. Key Responsibilities
- Partner with both operational and project delivery teams to understand business processes, data needs, and performance challenges
- Analyze and document requirements related to project delivery, utilization, financial performance, scheduling, and operational metrics
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models tailored to AEC business needs
- Integrate data from Deltek Vision / Vantagepoint, Autodesk-related platforms, Resource Planning, and other AEC SaaS systems using APIs and data connectors
- Work with Dataverse, SQL, and Azure data services to support structured and scalable data solutions
- Perform data transformation, cleansing, validation, and modeling across multiple project and enterprise data sources
- Develop and optimize DAX measures and calculations to support project, financial, and operational reporting
- Conduct building, space, or project-related data analysis where applicable (e.g., utilization, space planning, performance metrics)
- Translate analytical findings into clear recommendations for leadership, project teams, and operations
- Support the design and development of analytics solutions that align with professional services workflows and best practices
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional professional teams, IT, and leadership to continuously improve data quality and insights
