Job Description:
The Automation & Digital Systems Specialist I is to support the development of internal digital platforms and automation tools across infrastructure projects. This role focuses on building scalable backend systems, automating document and data workflows, integrating enterprise platforms, and improving data quality and traceability across multiple environments.
This role will contribute to the design and deployment of containerized applications, data pipelines, API integrations, and automation frameworks that support engineering and project delivery teams. This is a hands-on technical role combining backend development, data engineering, automation, and systems integration.
Primary Job Duties:
- Automation & Workflow Engineering
- Design and implement automation pipelines to process structured and unstructured data (e.g., registers, documents, PDFs, metadata extraction).
- Develop batch-processing systems with job queues, background workers, and exception handling.
- Build validation engines to ensure data integrity and traceability.
- Backend & Systems Development
- Develop backend services (Python and/or Node.js) to support digital workflows.
- Design relational database schemas (SQL Server or PostgreSQL) with proper constraints, indexing, and performance optimization.
- Implement logging, audit trails, and monitoring for system reliability.
- Integration Across Platforms
- Integrate enterprise platforms such as SharePoint, ProjectWise, ProjectSight, e-Builder, or Primavera P6 via APIs.
- Design secure authentication flows (OAuth, API tokens, role-based access).
- Implement data synchronization between systems while ensuring governance and compliance.
- Containerization & Deployment
- Develop and maintain Docker-based environments.
- Configure networking, volumes, and environment-based configuration management.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and versioned deployments.
- Contribute to scalable deployment strategies (cloud or on-prem).
- Data Quality & Governance
- Implement data validation, deduplication, reconciliation, and historical tracking.

Job Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):ย
- Minimum Education:ย Bachelorโs degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, or related fieldย
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in backend development, automation, or systems integration.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Experience with SQL databases (SQL Server or PostgreSQL), including schema design.
- Experience with Docker and container-based development.
- Experience integrating systems via APIs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with:
- Job queues or background processing systems.
- PDF parsing, OCR, or document processing pipelines.
- Cloud-based deployment environments (Azure or AWS).
