The Business Analyst supports the IFS Field Service Management (FSM) platform by translating operational needs into clear requirements, process designs, and testable user stories.Β  This role partners with all parts of the organization to improve service execution, inventory/parts workflows, scheduling efficiency, and compliance.Β  The Business Analyst ensures solution quality by documenting end-to-end processes, defining functional requirements, validating data/reporting needs, and supporting UAT and change adoption.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Requirements and User Story Development

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements for FSM capabilities such as work orders, scheduling/dispatch, mobile execution, parts/inventory, service contracts, inspections/compliance workflows, billing.
  • Translate needs into well-formed epics/user stories with acceptance criteria, business rules, and edge cases.
  • Maintain traceability between business objectives, requirements, configuration decisions, and delivered functionality.

Process and Data Analysis

  • Map current state vs future state processes and identify waste, variation, and automation opportunities with a Lean mindset.
  • Define data requirements for reporting and operations such as service KPIs, cost drivers, and compliance records.
  • Collaborate with departments on semantic definitions, metrics governance, and reporting requirements.

Solution Design Support

  • Partner with architects/developers to validate feasibility and ensure platform configuration meets requirements.
  • Support integration requirements across ERP/finance, inventory ordering, reverse logistics, and telemetry readiness.
  • Document role-based workflows for various end users.

Testing, UAT, and Release Support

  • Create test scenarios, UAT scripts, and support triage with clear reproduction steps and expected results.
  • Validate delivered functionality against acceptance criteria and ensure regression coverage for critical workflows.
  • Support release readiness communications and training materials with a clear and practical guide for users.

Change Enablement

  • Assist with developing job aids, SOP updates, and adoption plans.
  • Gather user feedback post-release and translate it into actionable backlog refinement inputs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years as a Business Analyst/Systems Analyst supporting enterprise applications.
  • Experience with IFS FSM or similar FSM platform.
  • Strong experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and business process documentation.
  • Working knowledge of a field service organization.
  • Experience supporting UAT and production releases.
  • Experience with analytics/reporting tools such as Power BI/Tableau and workflow automation.
  • Strong experience with SQL.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to obtain, analyze, and interpret large amounts of data.
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office Suite, JDE, IFS Field Service Management or other Field Service Management software.
  • Well-developed business acumen to effectively guide/influence the priority of various stakeholders while delivering exceptional service to customers.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, managers and groups of employees.
