Fairfax Countyβs Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) seeks a highly skilled IT professional to manage complex technology initiatives, align solutions with business objectives, and support mission-critical operations. Assist in HCD technology projects from requirements analysis through design, deployment, and support. Serve as liaison with DIT (Department of Information Technology) and vendors to align solutions with business objectives. Define scope, coordinate resources, and direct staff and consultants to deliver high-quality outcomes. Maintain documentation, track milestones, and resolve issues while ensuring adherence to Agile and waterfall methodologies. Collaborate with analysts and end users to improve processes and applications. Perform systems analysis and design, develop architecture diagrams, and execute advanced data analysis, modeling, and reporting. Create queries to extract and interpret data from enterprise systems, ensuring integrity and accessibility. Utilize MS development suite, SQL Management Studio, SQL Developer, and contemporary programming tools. Deliver dashboards and visualizations to support decision-making. Evaluate emerging technologies, including generative AI, to enhance efficiency and security. Monitor existing systems for optimization, conduct risk-benefit analyses, and apply best practices for compliance and performance. Provide technical support for network servers and ensure integration with enterprise applications. Oversee help desk operations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution. Manage hardware deployments, imaging, and asset inventory. Implement network protocols and connectivity solutions for secure access. Coordinate with IT teams and vendors to minimize downtime and support audiovisual needs for meetings. Conduct audits for compliance and system integrity. Provide guidance and training to junior IT staff, manage workloads, and promote collaboration to deliver high-quality technology solutions. Act as backup for team members to maintain continuity of operations. Communicate performance metrics and workload status to the IT Manager for strategic planning.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or a field related to the department where the IT services are being used: plus four years of experience analyzing business processes and/or developing/maintaining the main business system, technical platform, or a related system.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to the position must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check and a driving record check.
