The Role

The Business Intelligence & Data Analyst plays a critical role in helping Lavender operate as a truly data-driven organization. This role partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex and often ambiguous business questions into clear, actionable insights.

You will own the design, accuracy, and ongoing lifecycle of Lavender’s dashboards, KPIs, and reporting toolsβ€”ensuring leaders and teams can quickly understand performance, identify opportunities, and make informed decisions. This role blends strong technical execution with strategic thinking, and is ideal for someone who enjoys both building data products and guiding others in how to use them effectively.

What You’ll Do

Cross-Functional Partnership & Insight Generation

  • Partner with teams across Lavender to translate business challenges into structured data solutions and actionable insights.
  • Act as an internal consultant for new initiatives, using data modelling and scenario analysis to quantify drivers and forecast outcomes.
  • Convert complex datasets into clear recommendations and β€œnext-step” insights for senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain strong feedback loops with stakeholders to ensure analytical tools remain aligned with evolving business needs.

Data Product Ownership

  • Own the full lifecycle of reporting assetsβ€”from discovery and design to launch, maintenance, enhancement, and retirement.
  • Monitor usage, engagement, and relevance of dashboards and reports to maintain high system hygiene.
  • Promote adoption of data tools through training, documentation, and guidance, empowering non-technical teammates to confidently use self-serve resources.

Dashboarding & Reporting

  • Design and maintain a suite of automated dashboards and visual reports (primarily in Looker) that provide a real-time view of key KPIs.
  • Lead the discovery, collection, cleaning, and analysis of data from multiple sources to surface trends and operational opportunities.
  • Build and manage clean, unified datasets to ensure a reliable β€œsingle source of truth” across departments.
  • Fulfill high-priority exploratory and ad-hoc data requests while maintaining high standards of accuracy and relevance.

Data Governance & Integrity

  • Perform regular audits and validation checks to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Maintain documentation including data dictionaries, reporting logic, and operating procedures to support knowledge sharing.
  • Identify inefficiencies in data workflows and eliminate manual or duplicative processes through automation.
  • Ensure all data practices comply with U.S. data privacy regulations and industry standards, including HIPAA.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and ownership mindset, with the ability to translate ambiguous questions into structured, high-impact reporting solutions.
  • Proven experience managing the full data lifecycle: discovery, collection, cleaning, modeling, analysis, and reporting.
  • High proficiency with BI and visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI, with a focus on automated, self-serve dashboards.
  • Experience cleaning and modeling data to support a consistent, trusted source of truth across teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings as clear, actionable stories for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple reporting requests and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working within a U.S.-based healthcare organization.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, healthcare data security standards, and compliance requirements.
