Business Intelligence Engineer

Responsible for designing, developing, and maintain data solutions that transform raw information into actionable insights, enabling informed decision-making across the organization. With regular attendance, this role collaborates with stakeholders to understand business needs, builds and optimizes data models, and develops reports, dashboards, and analytics tools that support strategic and operational goals.

Develop, maintain, and present reports by data mining, collecting, integrating, modeling, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends in formats that meet user needs.
• Design and develop data models to support reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics.
• Utilize Power BI, Microsoft Reporting Services, or other software in a Microsoft SQL/T-SQL environment to design and produce models.
• Coordinate meetings to consult and collaborate needs and recommend additions or modifications to achieve desired outcome.
• Conduct analyses of functional business processes and requirements.
• Provide report training for various Public Safety and County organizations and personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s* degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 4 years of experience in data modeling, database design, and/or query optimization or in a related IT role.
* Approved work experience beyond that required which provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered and substituted for the stated education.
• Have and maintain a valid Driver’s License, as well as meet eligibility requires of “acceptable driving standards” as defined by the County.

• Extensive technical aptitude skills and ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information.

• Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages for data manipulation and analysis.
• Experience in designing, developing, and optimizing reports, dashboards, and data models.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical BI solutions.
