We’re looking for a talented and motivated Business Intelligence Engineer who enjoys the challenge of diving into complex business problems, providing data-driven insights, and making recommendations that directly impact the business. You will work closely with software engineers, product management, design, operations, and business stakeholders to drive decisions and bring products to production across the different Amazon transportation teams. You will enable the creation of data models that will drive regional parity, scalability, programmability of every aspect of transportation systems. Your responsibility is to expose and measure the current performance of our systems, identify key patterns of success and failure, find and quantify opportunities for improvement, enable prioritization of features and faster adoption of products. Successful team members are customer obsessed, flexible, and collaborative team players who enjoy working across functions and organizations to solve problems and get results. They thrive in ambiguity, ask hard questions, and build scalable solutions that provide critical business insights necessary to influence decision making across organizations. Key job responsibilities
- Retrieve, integrate, visualize and present data in dashboards (using Tableau, Quick sight, etc.) to support business decision making
- Analysis of historical data to identify trends and support decision making, including written and verbal presentation of results and recommendations
- Design, develop and establish KPIs to provide strategic insights to drive product growth and performance
- Systematically identify and categorize data errors to ensure that future plans are updated with improved business processes leading to improvement in CX
- Collaborate with data engineers, software development engineers, and other business intelligence engineers to design and implement country/region agnostic data architecture and analytics system enabling standardization of data management
- Establish standardized metrics across regions and projects to measure productivity and business impact in a holistic manner
- Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reports reviewed on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Measure and present impact of new feature launches and progress towards OLT goals to SCOT leadership
- Partner with internal stakeholders across multiple teams, gathering requirements and delivering complete solutions

About the team
The Fulfillment Optimization (FO) team is responsible to develop and support technologies that enable the optimal use of Amazon's transportation, operations, and delivery networks. We strive to consistently improve internal and external customer experience, and to increase confidence and trust in Amazon as the single, best option to get what you want when you want it.
- 5+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
