Key job responsibilities
β’ Lead high-impact analytical projects and deliver data-driven insights that shape organizational strategy and business outcomes
β’ Deliver comprehensive and proactive support across Finance Operations, Accounting, Tax and Indirect Procurement teams
β’ Develop comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, milestone tracking, and performance metrics
β’ Design innovative business analysis frameworks to uncover market trends and drive process optimization
β’ Build and maintain data lakes and warehouses using AWS technologies while establishing governance frameworks, particularly QuickSight, Andes and Redshift
β’ Develop and maintain ETL pipelines to integrate multiple data source systems while ensuring data quality
β’ Create and optimize complex Alteryx and SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models for efficient transformation
β’ Lead the implementation of QuickSight dashboards and end-to-end analytics solutions
β’ Architect and optimize database performance and query efficiency across enterprise systems
β’ Develop comprehensive data validation, testing frameworks, and security measures
β’ Create technical documentation and mentor team members on data engineering best practices
β’ Evaluate and implement new data technologies while driving adoption of modern engineering practices
β’ Identify and execute opportunities for process automation and optimization
β’ Contribute to data strategy development and maintain alignment with industry best practices
A day in the life
Daily activities for this role will include meeting with business partners to clearly define objectives and requirements and then translating that into actionable technical solutions. It will also include the design, development, and deployment of those solutions.
About the team
The Innovations Team provides analytics and data architecture support to the Finance and Accounting organization within the World Wide Grocery Stores (WWGS) organization at Amazon. The organizational and technical landscape within WWGS is changing rapidly and this team plays an integral part in helping facilitate change.
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- 1+ years of SQL, ETL or Oracle experience
- 1+ years of processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources experience
- 1+ years of performing statistical analysis experience
- 1+ years of developing automated reporting experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Experience with complex Alteryx environments and use cases
- Retail and/or grocery industry experience.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
