Position is responsible for the inspection, data collection, recording, and analysis of all assigned commercial and industrial field assessment within Marion County. Will ensure that all commercial and industrial field information is accurately measured and input into the property tax database in a timely manner so that it may be used by the Assessment Division and other city and county agencies. The position requires the knowledge of established laws and IAAO standards, which control most of the actions in this position. Independent judgment, subject to supervisory oversight, is used when there are no available policies and procedures. Other duties and tasks are routine in nature and performed under moderate supervision following standard procedures. Position reports to Manager Commercial and Industrial Field.

High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two (2) yearsβ prior work-related experience are required. Applicants must be certified by the DLGF as a Level II Assessor/Appraiser or be willing to earn that certification within six months of hiring. Must have knowledge of construction terminology. Effective project management, computer, and communication skills are required. Knowledge of imaging systems and other software is required. Applicants must have the ability to assist customers in a professional and courteous manner, whether itβs face-to-face, by email, or over the telephone. The position requires attention to detail and candidates must be able to type, create, and edit reports as needed, and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Must possess or obtain and hold a valid Indiana Driverβs License. All activities must comply with state law.
