Job Overview
The Franklin County Auditor’s Office is seeking a senior-level Data Analyst to support reporting, analytics, and data warehouse initiatives following a recent tax accounting system migration. This hands-on role requires both technical expertise and business analysis capabilities. The ideal candidate will refine data definitions, develop reports, and support application migration efforts while collaborating closely with business SMEs, analysts, developers, and the IT Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead refinement, validation, and ongoing documentation of the enterprise data dictionary.
- Work with business SMEs to elicit, clarify, and confirm data definitions, calculations, and business rules.
- Function as a business analyst to bridge gaps between business understanding and technical implementation.
- Support business analysts by validating data logic and ensuring consistency across reports, requirements, and applications.
- Design, develop, and maintain reports using Power BI and SSRS.
- Assist with report conversion and redevelopment impacted by system migrations.
- Provide advanced SQL Server expertise, including complex queries, functions, and stored procedures.
- Support data warehouse development and optimization, including indexing strategies.
- Analyze system tables, performance, and data behavior to support reporting and application needs.
- Translate business logic into actionable technical specifications for reporting and analytics.
- Identify and resolve data quality issues in partnership with technical teams.
- Document data lineage, transformations, and report logic clearly and consistently.
- Communicate progress, risks, and data-related issues to the IT Project Manager.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
