Title: Data and Assessment Specialist
Position Summary:
The Data and Assessment Specialist will provide assistance to district/school leadership and staff in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data for the purpose of school improvement. This person will be responsible for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in data collection, maintenance, reporting, analysis and interpretation. Also, the Data and Assessment Specialist will oversee the administration of standardized testing and school-wide assessment processes. Additionally, as needed, the Data and Assessment Specialist will support the work of the other members of the Main Office Staff.
Duties and Responsibilities (Not limited to):
District Data Reporting and Analysis
*Maintain the accuracy and certification of all state and federal reporting β SIMS/SCS/EPIMS/SSDR/CRDC
*Work with school leadership to collect, organize, and analyze data in support of district goals and initiatives
*Create data reports as requested
*Support the selection, implementation, and maintenance of data dashboards (e.g. Open Architects)
*Manage access to DESE security portal among district leaders and staff, supporting their use of this portal to view data and download as necessary
Student Assessments and District Accountability
*Ensure compliance with all state requirements regarding student assessment
*Monitor and evaluate district accountability
*Coordinate MCAS testing and other school wide assessments
Student Information System (SIS)
*Assist with the creation of the schoolβs master schedule (including 8th/9th grade student rollover)
*Support the work of the Schedulers as needed
*Work with database administrator to create school year calendar
*Maintain the schedule/calendar of school cancellations, events, alternate days, etc.
*Work with Personnel Specialist to maintain database of employee information
*Initiate database enhancement projects to identify and create efficiencies
Professional Development
*Manage database of Professional Development Points, including maintaining allocation of PDPs for faculty
*Manage database of ED&E proposals and coordinate allocation of funds for ED&E days (faculty summer workshops)
*Publicize offerings, manage faculty sign-ups, maintain database of workshops (faculty professional development workshops)
Ensure best practices for district data quality, state reporting, and Student Information Systems
*Attend School Information Advisory Group meetings
*Attend Aspen Team meetings
*Attend conferences, job-alike meetings, seminars and other professional meetings for on-going and updated professional development
Qualifications:
*College degree or related experience required
*Familiarity with Student Information Systems (SIS), Aspen preferred
*Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Slides, etc.)
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
*Demonstrated interest working in a school environment
Experience Preferred:
*2-3 years of experience with school department State and Federal Reporting requirements, such as SIMS, SCS, EPIMS, and other DESE (or similar) reporting systems
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
*Take initiative to streamline systems and create efficient methods of accomplishing tasks.
*Analyze data and clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
*Maintain confidentiality with regard to staff, student and parent information
*Work independently as well as collaboratively, and manage multiple reporting deadlines and requirements.
*Attend to detail with a strong focus on data accuracy and consistency across systems.
*Interact positively, professionally and patiently with school staff and community members.
Work Schedule: 12 Months, Full-Time, 7:30AM - 3:30PM
Terms of Employment: Wages and benefits per the Support Staff Employee Handbook
Salary Range: $32.39/Hour - $42.91/Hour
