Job Summary
Under the assigned supervisor, the Data Specialist is responsible for supporting data-driven initiatives for the Community Based Family Services (CBFS) Intact and Foster Care staff, and IL Placement Team. One Hope United’s (OHU) data management program emphasizes safety, consistency, accuracy and excellent service to all children and families that we assist. The Data Specialist will track the implementation of programmatic training requirements and develop reports that support the integrity and fidelity of OHU/DCFS policies and procedures.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Collaborate with the Senior Director of Programs of Training and Data Management to improve, develop, and maintain records of program training requirements, attendance, and their effectiveness
• Engage with program leaders on scheduling to ensure all required training is completed
• Maintain a calendar of all scheduled training courses that are accessible in Microsoft Outlook and SharePoint
• Create an automated report on the status of required training and the staff required to attend them including scheduling, and completion metrics (i.e. completed, due soon, overdue) filterable by program, leadership, team, staff, training type, and requirement authority
• Assist in the development, revision, and implementation of reporting metrics, and dashboards by proactively evaluating program data and identifying areas of strength and opportunities
• Provide professional and timely responses to routine inquiries from staff, managers, and senior leaders within One Hope United (OHU)
• Maintain the highest professional level of confidentiality in handling staff information
• Support the training team in leveraging learning management systems (LMSs) to track, deploy, and produce reports regarding training activities
• Remain informed on One Hope United (OHU), Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ), Council of Accreditation (COA), and Medicaid policies and procedures, making modifications to training and orientation protocols as necessary
• Work effectively and collaboratively as a team player with other members of leadership and departments, including but not limited to the Clinical Services team, Hope House team, the Continuous Quality Risk Improvement (CQRI) team, and Organizational Development team.
• Perform other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications Education:
BA/BS from an accredited college or university preferred in related field with at least 2 plus years of experience.
Experience:
2 years of experience in Social Work, Health and Human Services, Human Resources, Training/Development or related areas preferred.
Other:
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record with OHU required levels of coverage for auto insurance

2. Possess strong analytical skills, demonstrated technical proficiency, and an enthusiastic team-orientated approach to work
3. Demonstrative coaching, initiative, development skills, organizational awareness, and client satisfaction service approach
4. Exemplify professionalism and confidentiality when engaging with all levels of management and preparation when providing constructive feedback to managers regarding trainee progress
5. Advanced computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment and adaptive skills to expand software application skills as necessary
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong confidence level speaking to large or small groups
7. Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to document in a clear, concise manner
8. Ability to exercise discretion and ensure confidentiality
 
Preferred Skills
 
1. CWEL Certification
2. Microsoft Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher)
3. Experience designing and implementing reports
 
Physical Demands & Work Environment
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role in a professional office environment; however, some active office tasks are required. This would require the ability to move about inside the office to access cabinets, office machinery, etc. This position occasionally requires the ability to move file boxes, office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. The position requires visual and auditory acuity within professionally determined normal ranges, with correction if need; and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer and office equipment, including, but not limited to, the telephone, computer, and copier. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may occur.
