As a Data Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the creation and development of new databases, monitoring database performance, and interpreting and transforming raw data into valuable insights and applications. In addition to deriving meaning from raw data, your duties will include collecting and cleaning data, ensuring its accuracy and integrity, and safeguarding confidential information while making it accessible to authorized personnel.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive data analysis, including identifying trends, anomalies, and process improvement opportunities.
- Maintain and update the GIS local archive server, ensuring all data files are current, accurately labeled, and stored according to company standards.
- Create, clean, and format both simple and complex data files for print and production applications using advanced Excel functions, SQL queries, or other data tools as required.
- Verify customer-provided data, prepare proofs, and communicate with customers to ensure final outputs meet required formats and specifications.
- Manage multiple client databases simultaneously, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving data discrepancies between customer service, sales, and print/production teams.
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams to ensure smooth data integration into quoting, print, and production processes.
- Document all data processing procedures and maintain organized records for audit and reference purposes.
- Follow strict data security protocols to protect confidential and proprietary information.
- Proactively identify potential risks in data handling and recommend corrective actions.
Qualifications and Experience
- At leastΒ 2 years of professional experience in data analysis, data processing, or databaseΒ management
- Advanced Microsoft Excel functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, pivot tables, Power Query)Β
- Experience working in multiple databases at the same time
- Experience creating, cleaning, and formatting large data files for production use
- Experience working with print production data files or similarΒ
