Position Summary
The Financial Analyst in Corporate Accounting will provide analytical and financial modeling support for Berkshire corporate finance and accounting functions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Import and reconcile detailed monthly actual data with Power Query into Workday and reconcile the data against the Yardi GL
- Review actual results against budget/forecast and create visuals for themes in quarterly reports
- Update and maintain the corporate model with real-time transactions and update key metrics
- Prepare financial and operational reports/analyses factoring in both historical information and future forecasts
- Maintain operational dashboards and create reports for various requests made by senior management
- Support financial and operational planning, projections and budgeting process in the Workday model (i.e., gathering and input of data), analysis, and reporting
- Assist the Manager, Corporate Finance and VP, Corporate Finance with data requests and ad-hoc projects
- Identify, recommend, and execute to resolve issues as they arise. Ensure data integrity through tracking of assumptions and quality control with respect to the financial modeling and analysis
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly executive reporting packages, including PowerPoint presentations
- Participate in quarterly reforecasting process
- Participate in the annual budget process by working with department leaders across the organization to update assumptions
- Consistently demonstrate use of tact and discretion
Knowledge/Experience:
- At least two (2) years of corporate financial analysis and modeling experience
- Real estate investment industry experience is preferred
- Solid understanding of accounting and finance is required
- Ability to produce excellent quality work that is thorough, accurate, complete, consistent, and able to get information when requested
- Aptitude for organizing, prioritizing, and managing multiple priorities, using critical thinking and problem solving
- Demonstrated multi-modal communication style that reaches every stakeholder, specifically excellent verbal, and written communications
- Ability to communicate with and manage up to senior management
- Collaborative working style with inclusive work and thinking behaviors, commitment to excellence in teams and work product, with a strong work ethic
- Demonstrate emotional intelligence in high pressure and sensitive situations
- Tenacity, patience, and perseverance to work with business deals from beginning to end of process

- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and communications of information

- Demonstrated high level of ethics and integrity with a straightforward and honest approach
Technical/Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Familiarity with Workday Adaptive Planning or similar system preferred
- Demonstrated advanced financial modeling and Excel skills required, including familiarity with Power Query
- Demonstrated ability to use and learn new technology (e.g., computers/hardware, mobile, software, cloud-based programs)
- Proficiency with computers, keyboards, monitors and telephone headsets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of Products (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, Power Point, Power BI)
- Proficiency with Yardi a plus
- Proficiency with Adobe required
