Syzygy Integration is excited to add a Financial Analyst to our growing team in Conshohocken, PA.ย The Financial Analyst is not just a โnumber cruncherโ โ they are the bridge between finance, program management, and business development. Their role is to ensure that every program is financially sound, risks are anticipated, and leadership has visibility into both the current state and future trajectory of the business.ย
This is an onsite role in our Conshohocken, PA office. Must be a US Citizen - Must pass a drug screening.ย ย
Core Role Responsibilities: ย Act as the financial owner for programs from initiation through completion.ย
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Own the overall program budgetsย across the company
Maintain rolling forecasts across labor, materials, ODC, and travel.ย
Set up baseline budgets, cost structures, and obligations during kick-offs as well as set baselines for on-going programs
Monitor and Maintain Chargeability of individuals and groups, long term funding forecastsย
Profitability/marginsย & Trending Financials
Track actuals vs. budget vs. forecast to identify performance trends.ย
Risk and Opportunity Management:
Flag risks early, such as underfunded labor or overspending on ODCs/travel as well as tasks trending to overrun costs.
Evaluate long-term sustainability of funding streams, especially in government contracts where option years and re-competes impact continuity.ย
Identify areas in the budgets where there is opportunity to spend less or recreate success seen elsewhere in the portfolio
Analyze chargeability rates to identify underutilized personnel or areas of overcapacity.ย
Highlight KPIs such as gross margin, backlog burn, and funding-to-expenditure ratios.ย
Planning:
Work closely with Business Development teams to translate pipeline opportunities into forward-looking financial projections.ย
Translate program managersโ scope/schedule roadmaps into financial requirements, including budgets, Estimate-to-Complete (ETC) and Estimate-at-Completion (EAC) models.ย
Ensure proposed pursuits align with internal staffing and funding availability and identify gaps
Create โwhat-ifโ financial models that assess impact of new contract wins, extensions, or losses or for different courses of action on currently executing programs for risks and opportunities
Monitor burn rates and ensure programs stay aligned with contractual funding and delivery schedules.ย
Reporting:
Financial reporting (both internal and external) forย labor, hardware, ODC and travel
Provide leadership with clear visibility into profitability and margins, broken down by contract, business unit, and portfolio.ย
Build weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting packages for leadership.ย
Present findings clearly โ moving beyond raw numbers to actionable insights.ย
Support external reporting requirements (e.g., contract deliverables, audits, customer status updates).ย
Develop dashboards to track metrics in real time for leadership and program teams.ย
Ideal Candidate Profileย
The ideal candidate will have experience operating in a smaller company, wearing many hats and experience with achieving operational goals.ย
A degree in accounting, finance, business administration along with relevant work experience in financial analysis is preferred.ย
An ability to balance analytical rigor while telling the financial story in plain language is ideal.ย
Our ideal candidate will be proactive in spotting risks and opportunities and communicating them to the proper company individuals.ย
Must be comfortable working in a government contracting environment where funding cycles and compliance requirements drive decisions.ย
