SCOPE OF WORK 

A Financial Analyst in the Hotel Development division of A&R Group is responsible for supporting acquisition, development, and refinancing activities through detailed financial analysis, modeling,  and strategic planning. This role involves crafting and managing pre-development budgets,  underwriting hotel and resort investment opportunities, and providing actionable insights to assist senior leadership in capital allocation decisions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly proficient in Excel, and brings experience or interest in banking or hospitality. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Data Analysis: Analyze historical and projected financial data to identify trends, assess risks, and inform development decisions. 


Financial Reporting: Prepare detailed financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for executive stakeholders, summarizing findings and recommendations. 


Budgeting and Forecasting: Build and manage pre-development budgets for hotel projects. Assist with pro forma modeling and long-term financial forecasting.


Investment Underwriting: Develop and maintain underwriting models for evaluating hotel and resort acquisition, development, and refinancing opportunities. 


Financing Support: Support efforts to secure acquisition, construction, and permanent financing, including preparation of lender presentation materials and sensitivity analyses.


Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, legal, and asset management teams to gather data, align assumptions, and support deal execution


Market Research: Conduct market and comp set analysis to support development pipeline and investment recommendations. 


Process Management: Track and manage project costs, timelines, and deliverables throughout the development lifecycle. 


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS 


Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field. CFA, CPA, or relevant certifications are a plus. 


Experience: Prior experience in real estate finance, banking, private equity, or hotel operations is preferred. Hotel development or hospitality industry knowledge is a strong advantage. 


Financial Modeling: Advanced proficiency in Excel required, including experience building dynamic underwriting models. 


Software Skills: Experience with financial and accounting systems; M3 accounting software experience is a plus. 


Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in financial reporting and modeling; ability to identify discrepancies and validate assumptions.


Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to synthesize and present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders. 


Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
