Description

JDI Finance Shared Services efficiently processes financial transactions for our J.D. Irving, Limited group of companies working with internal stakeholders across various business sectors, including transportation & logistics, forestry, shipbuilding, manufacturing, and information technology services.

As the Financial Analyst, you will work closely with the treasury team. You will play a key role in cash forecasting, treasury management, and financial strategy, ensuring process efficiencies and system integration while collaborating with business units to improve cash flow operations. This position is located at our head office in Saint John, New Brunswick.



Responsibilities
  • Lead cash forecasting and treasury management for J.D. Irving companies, ensuring strategic decision-making.
  • Drive process improvements by evaluating current methods and recommending efficiencies in cash flow management.
  • Execute cash settlements, wire transfers, and corporate remittances in alignment with financial policies.
  • Collaborate with business units to provide insights into significant transactions, ensuring alignment with overall financial strategy.
  • Optimize treasury system usage, including field mapping, reporting, and automation.
  • Support period-end closing activities, ensuring financial accuracy in our accounting system (JD Edwards).
  • Challenge and improve existing processes by questioning current methodologies and implementing innovative solutions.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or accountingΒ 
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in finance
  • Analytical thinker with a keen eye for financial forecasting and cash flow optimization
  • Technical aptitude and strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Familiarity with reporting automation and system integration, including field mapping and data workflows
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to drive financial process improvements and challenge inefficiencies
  • Experience or interest in leading change through process improvements and project management methodologiesΒ 
  • Proven experience collaborating with internal stakeholders and managing cross-functional relationshipsΒ 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey financial insights clearly across diverse teamsΒ 
  • Ambitious, proactive, and adaptableβ€”curious by nature and committed to continuous learning and shaping treasury best practices
  • Continuous improvement experience would be considered an asset
  • Strong attention to detail to support transaction accuracy, closing activities, and compliance with internal controls
