Financial Analyst

As a Financial Analyst, you will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance analysis. Working closely with various departments, you’ll provide critical financial insights that shape business strategy, optimize costs, and support key projectsβ€”including capital investments. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical thinker eager to contribute to an organization’s financial excellence.

Responsibilities

Β 

  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with organizational and departmental goals.
  • Conduct variance analysis by comparing actual performance against budgeted targets, identifying key drivers, and providing recommendations.
  • Provide business case analysis, evaluating investment projects and new product offerings, and assisting in project coordination.
  • Develop financial models, dashboards, and reports to support decision-making for leadership and project teams.
  • Oversee capital projects by providing financial and analytical expertise, monitoring costs, and assessing outcomes.
  • Compare current financial status versus established baselines and forecasts, contributing to variance analysis and explanation.
  • Coordinate the preparation, analysis, and presentation of project reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Identify cost and schedule impacts and provide guidance to project teams to improve financial performance.
  • Support change management processes related to financial controls, forecasting, scheduling, and performance measurement.
  • Review projects periodically to ensure financial objectives and administrative compliance are met.
  • Develop financial presentations and project summaries for management and executive review.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, reporting standards, and best practices

QualificationsΒ Β Β 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, budgeting, accounting, or controllership.
  • Strong understanding of financial reports, budgetary guidelines, and project expenditures.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis using Excel or other financial software.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • CPA designation (or progress toward) is considered an assetΒ
