Job Description

MISSION

The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information to support business decision making. They will partner with the business and act as the point person in understanding the drivers of the business in leading a culture of accountability for results. This role ensures the integrity of various reports with focus on completeness, accuracy and timeliness and adding value to the business.

  • Accuracy of financial reports and models

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Functional

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly expense and capital analysis; and report on variances against plan, forecast and last year
  • Perform a variety of financial analysis using standard financial models
  • Possess a solid understanding of financial fundamentals
  • Support the financial budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Contribute to monthly and quarterly executive management reports
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analysis
  • Assist in developing and implementing opportunities to improve and streamline business processes
  • Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all decision-making and design processes
  • Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs
  • Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo’s customers
  • Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them

SCOPE

Reports officially to the Director FP&A, and partners closely with the Senior Financial Analyst on day-to-day activities.

Qualifications

Work Experience / Education / Certifications

  • University degree in Business, Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Interest or enrollment in CPA considered an asset
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a related role

Competencies / Skills / Attributes

  • Strategic thinker/business minded
  • Exposure to the areas of financial analysis, budgeting/forecasting, variance analysis
  • Strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Retail industry experience an asset
