Job Description
This position will be supporting the Accounting Division, within the Department of Financial Services. This position may be performing the following activities: develop, analyze, reconcile, and validate financial data; research and interpret accounting standards and other guidance; prepare GAAP financial statements and other major financial reports; document processes and procedures; support year end external financial audit; provide technical accounting support to other departments and divisions in problem solving and developing new processes.
Essential Duties- Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts.
- Manage general ledger activities as well as the County's capital assets and inventory for various departments.
- Assist and prepare year-end schedules for the annual audit.
- Work closely with departments to ensure accuracy of financial information and assist in data analysis and problem-solving.
- Provide training to departments as needed, including creating training material, presentations, and on-hand demonstrations.

The grade for this position is C42(1).

Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field AND
- Four years of professional level accounting experience OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered
- Experience working in the Public Sector.
