Class Summary




Job Description
This position will be supporting the Accounting Division, within the Department of Financial Services. This position may be performing the following activities: develop, analyze, reconcile, and validate financial data; research and interpret accounting standards and other guidance; prepare GAAP financial statements and other major financial reports; document processes and procedures; support year end external financial audit; provide technical accounting support to other departments and divisions in problem solving and developing new processes.

Essential Duties
  • Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts.
  • Manage general ledger activities as well as the County's capital assets and inventory for various departments.ย 
  • Assist and prepare year-end schedules for the annual audit.ย 
  • Work closely with departments to ensure accuracy of financial information and assist in data analysis and problem-solving.
  • Provide training to departments as needed, including creating training material, presentations, and on-hand demonstrations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field AND
  • Four years of professional level accounting experience OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered
Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
  • Experience working in the Public Sector.ย
