Summary: This full-time position requires review of day-to-day financial reporting and analysis for select clients. Position includes reviewing data for accuracy and creating client specific reports for analysis and review. Additionally, the Financial Analyst will serve as a mentor to a Junior Analyst.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review self-funded, financial reports and provide comments to Account Management team for monthly or quarterly discussions
  • Mange claims audit, dependent audit, and plan optimization/contribution differential analysis process
  • Develops self-funded renewal projections, assist in the preparation of financial renewal summary, prepare alternate funding options
  • Prepare stop loss sensitivity analysis for self-insured clients
  • Review client IBNR reserve analysis templates prior to actuarial review
  • Proof exhibits created by Level 1 Analysts for mathematical, formulaic, spelling, grammatical and branding errors and ensure they are client ready
  • Update excel-based templates/models to improve the reporting or renewal process
  • Attends seminars or educational activities to stay up-to-date on the latest developments, trends and regulations in the market place
  • Attend client meetings on an as-needed basis to review financial reports
  • Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance with all client information obtained in the course of work.
  • Build and maintain solid relationships carrier sales representatives and Account Management teams
  • Additional duties as assigned

  • Multi-Tasking – Efficiently organize work and manage time in order to meet deadlines and remain on task with designated timelines
  • Knowledge of benefits administration, healthcare reform, industry trends, carrier products and services preferred
  • Ability to correspond on all financial issues in a clear, concise and persuasive manner
  • Ability to effectively establish rapport, present information and respond to questions from managers, clients and coworkers
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong Communication and analytical skills
  • 10% travel required - level of travel can potentially increase due to client growth.Ā 
Education and/or Experience:
  • Four-year college or university Finance/Statistics/Mathematics is preferred or 6+ years of equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of related experience and/or training with a carrier, consultant or broker
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Microsoft Access and Microsoft Power BI and Power Query skills preferred

  • Employees required to possess or obtain the Ohio Life and Health License within 4 months of employment.

The base salary range for this position is $82,000 to $104,000.Ā  The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
