The Senior Financial Analyst, Commercial FP&A isย responsible for decision support analysis, forecasting, and presentation of commercial results for the company.ย Primarily focused on sales, costs, and expenses; this role will analyze historical actuals, execute various ad-hoc analyses, and contribute to modeling out various scenarios in support of projects or initiatives, as the needs of the business dictate.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform financial analysis and decision support for the Commercial functional leaders
- Support the functional leaders through monthly, quarterly, and annual processes, including:
- Daily monitoring of commercial health of business (orders received, orders shipped)
- Monthly analysis of actual results
- Development of monthly forecast updates
- Development of annual operating plan
- Perform various tasks related to data availability more broadly across the organizationย
- On a monthly basis, report on revenues and expenses related to corporate OIM teams and potentially contribute to any other analysis needed within the department.ย
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement by introducing new analytical tools and metrics and automating repetitive processes.
- Work on special assignments as they arise.
Knowledge & Skills
- To be successful in this role, the Individual must have good business acumen, strong analytical abilities and a finance/accounting background.ย
- Individual must be able to discern data accuracy by performing analyses and validating data.
- Individual will be able to establish sound working relationships with cross-functional teams including Commercial Contracting, Sales, Finance, Accounting, and IT to support system data integrity.
- Excellent verbal and writtenย communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Able to deal with ambiguity in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency with analysis of large amounts of data โ using Excel, Access, and other data tools โ and able to identify relevant patterns and extract insights.
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experienceย
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Bachelorโs degree from an accredited college or university is required, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 5 yearsโ experience in finance and/or accounting roles.
- Business partner support and continuous improvement experience preferred.
- Requires interest in contracts, financial control, and large-scale databases.
- Excellent communication skills, strong analytical, computer and problem-solving capabilities.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, Oracle and Model N system knowledge preferred.
- Must be a quick learner and self-starter.
Work Environment
- This is largely a sedentary role.ย
- This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
- Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time
