Position Summary

The Investor Relations & Financial Analyst will support the Director of Investor Relations and Sustainability in executing strategic communication, regulatory reporting, and ESG-related initiatives. This role plays a critical part in preparing investor-facing materials, identifying new investor targets, sustainability reporting, and ensuring impactful, accurate, and timely analysis of industry and capital markets trends. Additionally, this position will support corporate financial planning and analysis (FP&A) efforts, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and strategic financial modeling across the business. The role will also support investor-related financial queries and contribute to evaluating investment opportunities and capital allocation strategies.

This cross-functional role is highly visible within the organization and requires strong financial acumen, exceptional attention to detail, and a strong team mentality. The successful candidate must be a quick learner, a team player, and have the ability to handle multiple time-sensitive projects within a fast-paced environment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assists in the preparation of quarterly earnings materials, investor presentations, annual shareholder and sustainability reports, and other external communications.
  • Helps to craft corporate communication strategy to external stakeholders and ensures the Company’s investor messaging is aligned with key financial and operational metrics of the Company’s business strategy.
  • Monitors industry trends, peer performance, investor sentiment, and relevant financial and ESG metrics.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with industry peers and institutional investors.
  • Collaborates on the development of ESG disclosures in alignment with frameworks such as GRI, SASB, and TCFD and supports the collection, analysis, and presentation of sustainability data for regulatory and investor use.
  • Contributes to internal and external messaging around ESG performance and strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinates logistics and content development for investor meetings, conferences, and roadshows.
  • Supports annual budget preparation, monthly forecasting, and variance analysis across departments and business units.
  • Prepares and analyzes key performance indicators (KPIs), financial dashboards, and business performance metrics to aid executive decision-making.
  • Maintains investor contacts databases, Q&A documents, and IR calendars.
  • Assists in ensuring compliance with SEC and California environmental disclosure regulations.
  • Provides support in developing and maintaining budgets, forecasts, and long-term planning models.
  • Assists with preparing board materials and financial summaries for executive and investor audiences.
  • Contributes to special projects, scenario modeling, and M&A strategy analyses.
  • Conducts valuation analyses, including DCF, comparable company, and precedent transaction modeling.
  • Supports capital planning, liquidity forecasting, and return on investment analyses.
  • Liaises cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Operations, and HSE teams to ensure cohesive messaging and data alignment.
  • Drives new idea generation and process improvement
  • Complies with all company safety and environmental policies, practices, and programs, taking corrective action within training limitations, and escalating as necessary.
  • Participates in and adheres to all training programs designed to enhance HSE knowledge, safety standards, and job performance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education, Certificates, Licenses

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
  • MBA, CPA, or CFA certification preferred but not required.

Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis, investor relations, sustainability reporting, equity research, or related roles.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Critical:

  • Analytical, financial modeling, and data visualization skills.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to see the bigger picture and strategy concepts behind all projects.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with a collaborative mindset and a desire to learn and grow.

Required:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint Point and other Microsoft Office programs.
  • Experience with other data visualization or data management tools.
  • Familiarity with FactSet, Bloomberg, CapIQ, or other financial database programs.
  • Knowledge of the Exploration and Production industry, public company reporting regulations/processes, and business strategy/capital markets.
  • Experienced in maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in building and managing financial models (e.g., cash flow, P&L, balance sheet).
  • Knowledge of GAAP principles and financial statement analysis.

Desired:

  • Familiarity with ESG reporting standards and investor expectations around sustainability disclosures.
  • Ability to take ownership and bring new ideas to the table.
  • Experience with public energy companies.
  • Experience presenting financial data to leadership or investor audiences.
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
  • Experience in corporate finance, FP&A, investment banking, or financial consulting.

Work Environment

  • Primarily an office work environment.
  • Routine work involves common office activities during a typical 9-hour day such as standing, sitting, walking, typing, and twisting as necessary.
  • May be required to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must follow all company safety policies, including when visiting field locations.

The pay range for this position is between $74,880 and $88,920 annually based on a full-time schedule.Β  Please note that the annual salary information is a general guideline, and that annual salary will vary depending on your location and that Berry Corporation (β€œBerry”) will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope of responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considers when extending an offer.Β  This position is eligible for short-term cash incentive bonus and long-term incentive awarded in restricted share units, excellent benefits including full health benefits, 401(k) with company match and immediate vesting, tuition reimbursement, 9/80 flex schedules, and generous paid time off.
