The Marketing Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data from various sources to provide actionable insights that support strategic decision-making across the Marketing & Communications team. This role plays a key part in optimizing marketing performance, identifying trends, and uncovering opportunities for growth and engagement.

Using data analysis, this role will aid in the development of advertising campaigns, product management and development, digital strategy, and other creative assets and initiatives that support Access Credit Union’s vision and organizational goals.

The successful Marketing Analyst will be able to analyze qualitative data, trends, strategies, and competition aimed at increasing competitiveness for Access Credit Union.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Develop and/or enhance dashboards and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders clearly and effectively. Examples include:

    • New members vs. closed memberships by branch

    • New accounts vs. closed accounts by branch

    • Age & gender demographics

    • Penetration by branch (share of wallet) incl. ancillary products like Aviso and Collabria

  • Targeting, segmentation, list generation and automation, development of dashboards, reports, measurement, and data modeling > monitor progress of deliverables

  • Maintain data integrity and ensure consistent tracking across platforms.

  • Identify target audiences and gather web analytics to prepare strategies for success in marketing campaigns > focus on strategic outcomes

    • Consider strategies in key areas – for ex. lending in Northwest Winnipeg, deposits in Eastern MB, etc.

  • Provide qualitative and quantitative analysis/insight to inform marketing and brand strategies, digital marketing content and strategy, communications, and new opportunities including:

    • Monitor KPIs and provide recommendations to improve ROI across digital and traditional marketing channels.

    • Conduct A/B testing and other experiments to evaluate marketing effectiveness.

    • Monthly ROI reporting

      • Year over year growth

      • Growth by region and/or branch

    • Analyzing campaign performance, customer behavior, and market trends using tools such as Google Analytics, CRM platforms, and social media insights.

  • Conduct analysis using in-house analytics tools and be comfortable analyzing a range of social and business data.

  • Work closely with Product & Integration Specialist to monitor and report on product and member trends including (but not limited to):

    • Product trends (deposits, lending, demand account packages, etc.)

    • Service fee reviews & upcoming market/regulatory changes

    • Regional penetration

    • Competitive comparisons and market research

  • Remain fully informed on market conditions, competitor offers, consumer demographics, and market trends

  • Research members' opinions, financial habits, preferences, wants and needs – support survey execution and subsequent analytics

  • Formulate plans/recommendations and build presentations to clearly articulate insights, while simplifying data and processes for various levels of audiences including peers, other department teams, senior management, and Board of Directors (where necessary)

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven marketing strategies and initiatives.

  • Collaborate with and support the Marketing and Communications team with deliverables and execution, where required

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Statistics, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of job-related experience in data or analytics roles or related field. Previous experience in marketing considered a significant asset.

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and other reporting tools required.

  • Adequate knowledge of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys, etc.) as well as working knowledge of CRM programs and tools.

  • Ability to synthesize data into insights and interpret information effectively using a wide range of analytical tools.

  • Familiar with both digital dataβ€”such as social and searchβ€”and traditional business data such as penetration and brand equity.

  • Previous experience monitoring and analyzing traffic to digital applicationsβ€”such as search engines, web analytics, etc.

  • Experience with marketing platforms and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, HubSpot).

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

  • Detail-oriented with a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Note: This is a remote position however the successful candidate must reside in Manitoba.
