- Design data visualization experiences across the Databricks product
- Empower our customers to quickly and easily build insightful and beautiful graphs and visualizations using their data
Β Design self-service analytics solutions that focus on users who are not extremely technical and require intuitive UIs to help them build complex visualizations and dashboardsΒ
- Gain a deep understanding of Databricks business objectives, users, market opportunities, and competition. Become well-versed on the Databricks product and its personas (Data scientists, data engineers, data analysts and administrators)
- Able to work closely with Engineering,Β Product Management and other key cross-functional partners to drive design decision-making
- Actively seek & provide design feedback and collaboratively improve the design process
Competencies
- 3+ years of product design work experience, preferably in products with technical end users.
- A bachelor's or masterβs degree or equivalent, ideally with specialization in HCI, Interaction Design, graphic design, computer science, or related disciplines
- Unique combination of technical knowledge and visual design skills which allows you to design beautiful and impactful data visualizations, charts and data visualization components, while having a strong expertise on designing end-to-end user experiences.
- Experience with gathering feedback from end users and some working knowledge of other user experience research methodologies.
- Experience shipping great digital products. We strongly believe that a designerβ involvement never stops. You should be comfortable overseeing and impacting the entire process from idea to GA.
- Exceptional communicator who can explain and document the behavior of the components they design in dynamic ways catered to their audience
- A portfolio showcasing the end-to-end design process, from inception to production
- Experience with the following is a nice-to-have:
- Designing products in the Big Data space
- Coding Python, R, SQL or other languages that could be most relevant to the field of data visualization
