The Residential and Consumer Lending Business Analyst is responsible for the administration, implementation of new processes and procedures and development of new products within the mortgage and consumer loan origination systems. Perform research and analysis relating to existing and proposed products. In addition, this position has key responsibility for project management within the department.Β
Compliance, Reporting and Systems
- Maintain compliance with government regulations including forms, disclosures and software updates.
- Collaborate with the subject matter experts and the key stakeholders to develop reporting solutions for a wide variety of business intelligence and departmental needs. Align the data with the operational needs to prompt actionable decisions and create efficiencies.
- Perform report maintenance, revisions and scheduling.Β
- Main point of contact within department to support and provide assistance to all users within the Loan Origination System. Liaison between POS and LOS vendor and department.
- Administer applicable changes to product and pricing within the loan systems.
- Responsible for overseeing department vendor management process. Including but not limited to working with the Bank's Vendor and Business Continuity Analyst on annual reviews and updating of required documentation.Β In charge of onboarding new vendors and obtaining all necessary approval documentation.
- Provide data to 3rd party research partners, collaborate with the Business Intelligence department as well as other departments within the bank as necessary. Perform analysis of these 3rd party reports and findings from the collaboration efforts, to include trends and changes, as input for strategic decisions.
- Compile and implement all investor changes including but not limited to document custodian locations, investor software updates and loan level pricing changes
Market Expansion Analysis
- Perform new market analysis for mortgage expansion within the investor community.
- Monitor and evaluate market trends and activities (market insights, customer and competitor intelligence), provide analyses and recommendations in order to identify areas in the market where business can be developed to improve USB market position and profitability
Product/Market Research Analysis & StrategyΒ
- Perform research and analysis relating to existing and proposed products including market share and household penetration analyses, market potential, growth trends. Share research with lines of business as input to bank-wide strategies and product decisions.
- Assist in loan product development, testing and implementation within POS and LOS. Including, but not limited to documentation, fees, set up and review.
- Develop, execute, and interpret primary and secondary market research projects to drive strategic decision making and business performance.
- Use 3rd party research to determine marketplace attitudes and awareness about USB by performing demographic, psychographic and lifestyle needs analysis.
Project Management
- Create and maintain workflows to ensure accurate and efficient completion of work and document retention.
- Direct and manage project development from start to finish: development of full-scale project plans, define project scope, establish goals and deliverables that support business objectives, identify metrics for and perform cost-benefit analyses; create implementation plan to include risk assessment, establishment of resource plan estimates, and identification of participants required to achieve project goals.
- Track project milestones and deliverables, create and distribute supporting documentation as necessary.
- Complete the project with a results evaluation to determine if the identified metrics were met.
- Work with SVP of department in developing and creating presentations.
