Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Math Instructional Coach or Lead Teacher to serve as our Summer Math Interventionist. This role is designed for a mathematical expert who excels at using data to drive instruction.
The successful candidate will spend the pre-program period analyzing student profiles (Grades 3β5) to create targeted intervention plans. During the summer session, they will lead high-impact, small-group instruction on Tuesdays and Thursdays to close achievement gaps and build mathematical confidence.

Key Responsibilities
Phase 1: Data Diagnostics & Planning (Pre-Program, June)
- Dedicate 5β8 hours (prior to July 6) to reviewing students enrolled in summer programsΒ student academic dataΒ
- Identify specific "power standards" and skill gaps for individual students and clusters.
- Use current approaches to intervention to support coherence in programming for studentsΒ
- Develop students a summer learning math intervention system which focuses on preteaching prerequisite skills and content for unit 1 of the upcoming school yearΒ
Phase 2: Instructional Delivery (July 6 β August 7)
- Small-Group Intervention: Facilitate targeted math sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays at designated program sites.
- High Quality Math Instruction: Utilize research-based instructional practices including discourse anticipating and responding to misconceptions to support diverse learners.
- Progress Monitoring: Maintain brief, weekly tracking of student growth and engagement to share with school based teams.
- Real World Applications: Connect learning to real world applications to support student learning and understanding of key concepts.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 3β5 years of experience as a Math Interventionist, Instructional Coach, or Lead Math Teacher.
- Expertise: Demonstrated mastery of Kβ6 mathematical progressions and common core standards.
- Data Literacy: Proven ability to interpret student data to create actionable instructional paths.
- Certification: Valid Teaching License (Math or Elementary Education) preferred.
Compensation & Schedule
- Total Weekly Hours: 6β8 hours per week.
- On-Site Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays.
- Prep Pay: $45Β hourly rate provided for the initial 5β8 hours of data collection and planning.
