Weir Canada Inc., Weir Marine Engineering

Location: Ottawa, ON

Work arrangement:  Hybrid

Purpose of Role

You will be part of a team, working closely with our Department of National Defence (DND) clients and with other Weir Marine Engineering specialists on a DND Science Digitalization initiative aimed at innovating, integrating, and accelerating business processes that enhance operational readiness, strengthen decision-making, and empower command for the challenges of tomorrow.  As a Senior Business Analyst, your focus will be on ensuring that business requirements are aligned with the recommended business processes, enabling effective planning, execution, oversight, and reporting of science and R&D activities.

The position requires on-site work at DND’s Carling Campus at least 3 days per week, with the rest of the work performed remotely (telework).  The activity has initial funding to 31 March 2027, but it is expected that the work will be renewed for subsequent periods.  Although this opportunity is aimed at a consultant/contractor, an employment arrangement could also be considered.

What we do at Weir

We are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. We help our customers extract the resources the world needs—more efficiently and more sustainably. Our planet’s future depends on the transition to renewable energy, and that transition can only happen with the metals and minerals our customers deliver. So, we work side by side with mines across the globe to move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely and create less waste. Together, we drive the shift to smart, efficient and more sustainable mining.  Outside the mining sector, Weir Marine Engineering has managed and operated the Naval Engineering Test Establishment for the Department of National Defence since 1964.
