Position Summary:

This position is part of a growing team at GPFS which focuses on providing comprehensive data and reporting solutions for Private Market clients. In this role you will focus on the ingestion, normalization, and enhancement of data (i.e., accounting, financial, regulatory) from multiple sources to support / maintain reporting needs for various organizational stakeholders. You will play a crucial role in maintaining best practices in data organization and visualization, and staying up to date with industry trends to drive continuous improvement and support team growth.

  • Utilize data cleaning techniques and tools to handle missing values, outliers, and inconsistencies in large and complex datasets.
  • Understand and apply private market reporting concepts to data modeling and report automation.
  • Provide support for a range of reporting applications, including custom-built solutions and third-party tools to enable reporting across the organization.
  • Carry out exploratory data analysis, researching and resolving issues with various degrees of complexity.
  • Produce ad-hoc models for clients or GPFS management for purposes such as fund raising or performance tracking.
  • Work as a strong team member as well as an independent contributor.
  • Support fund administration teams by producing and reviewing data driven work-paper schedules used in financial statements, investment valuations and other deliverables.
  • Optimize and maintain workflows related to data processing tasks.
  • Reconcile reporting output to source documents.
  • Drive process improvement or automation.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to work hours needed to complete client deliverables.

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Math, Informatics, Data Science, Finance, or related field of study.
    • 3+ years of work experience with VBA, SQL / SSRS, R / Python or visualization software.
    • Knowledge of investment & economic principals / terms (markets, asset classes, fund classes, sectors etc.).
    • Understanding of performance and Benchmarking calculations and terminology (GIPS, PME).
    • Ability to identify trends, patterns, or abnormalities in data sets and to simplify complex data sets.
    • Proficiency with software related products such as Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and OneNote).
