Description

The Senior Financial Analyst Role – will serve as a key business partner to Operations, Supply Chain, SG&A and Engineering to improve financial performance. This individual will ensure accurate and timely reporting, and deliver meaningful analysis that drives strategic business decisions. The position requires a hands-on, detail-oriented finance professional who can build scalable processes, ensure financial discipline, and support data-driven operational decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing startup. Joining a small team, this role is significant opportunity to have an outsized impact on the success of the finance team and larger company. This role reports to the Director of FP&A and will ideally be based in the Metro-Detroit area.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support monthly variance reporting, working with key stakeholders across the business. This includes assisting with reporting to executives and meeting cross functionally with budget owners to keep financial assumptions up to date.
  • Learn and enhance Workhorse’s understanding of how to best leverage ERP systems and financials software. Workhorse currently leverages QAD and Vena software solutions.
  • Assist in annual budgeting process, including template creation and creation of outputs for executive review.
  • Support accounting partners during the month-end close process, ensuring accounting entries align with the reporting requirements of the business and expectations of FP&A.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor operational efficiency.
  • Be a trusted strategic partner to the business. Assist in validating and creating long term financial modeling.
  • Support ad-hoc financial modeling as needed. Create financial models to support pricing, engineering projects, or other analysis on an as-needed basis.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
  • Experience with budgeting, monthly forecasting, and variance reporting required.Β 
  • 2-5+ years of corporate finance or FP&A experience; manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and bias toward action; consistently investigates issues beyond the surface, defines next steps without direction, and takes ownership to resolve problems end to end.
  • Advanced Excel skills. Strong knowledge of ERP systems preferred. Specific experience with QAD or Vena considered a benefit.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving production environment.Β 
  • Approximately 10% travel may be required.
