Description

Hearst Television is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Financial Planning & Analysis team. Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, this role plays a critical part in financial reporting, analysis, and strategic decision support within a fast-paced corporate environment. The Senior Financial Analyst partners closely with senior leadership to deliver actionable insights through high-quality financial reporting, robust financial models, and executive-level presentations, while continuously improving financial processes, tools, and reporting capabilities to support data-driven decision-making. This is an in-person role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Month-end financial reporting, consolidation, and analysis, including multi-entity P&L consolidation, system reconciliations, data management, variance analysis, and management commentary

  • Leverage financial systems, reporting tools, and emerging technologies (including automation, advanced analyticsΒ 

  • Develop and maintain executive-level financial reports, dashboards, and presentations that highlight performance, trends, and key business drivers

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly forecasts, quarterly leadership reviews, the annual budget, and the 5-year long-range plan

  • Lead ad hoc financial and operational analyses to deliver actionable insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders

  • Use Generative AI to improve forecasting, reporting efficiency, and decision support

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance data quality, and improve the scalability of FP&A deliverables

  • Support M&A and other strategic initiatives, including due diligence, valuation analysis, and transaction support

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative/analytical discipline (e.g. Accounting/ Finance, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, etc.) or equivalent experience

  • 4+ years of financial analysis experience in a corporate environment

  • Advanced analytical skills with experience developing and maintaining business intelligence and data visualization tools.

  • Working knowledge of accrual-based accounting principles (GAAP) preferred

  • Hands on experience with SmartView/Essbase and ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP

  • Advance proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; strong working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications

  • Media industry experience preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work collaboratively in a team environment, and take ownership of projects from concept through execution

  • Detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment

SalaryΒ 

The salary for this role is $105,000-$115,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.Β
