SUMMARY

The Senior IT Business Analyst serves as a technical domain subject matter expert, combining deep business knowledge with advanced technical expertise across capital planning, asset management, investments, and data science functions. Reporting to the Technical Product Manager, this role bridges sophisticated business requirements with technical implementation through extensive knowledge of modern software development practices, data architectures, and enterprise systems. The position requires comprehensive understanding of REIT operations complemented by hands-on technical capabilities across the technology stack, from database design to front-end development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and document complex data models and integration patterns between enterprise systems, with particular focus on Yardi's property management modules, financial systems, and operational databases
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications for data pipelines and ETL processes, ensuring proper implementation of medallion architecture principles across bronze, silver, and gold data layers in Snowflake
  • Create detailed technical requirements for React-based applications, collaborating with development teams on component design, state management, and API integration patterns
  • Lead the implementation of data governance practices across Azure Data Factory pipelines, Snowflake data warehouse, and Power BI semantic layers
  • Support design and documentation of API interfaces between systems, ensuring proper data contract design, security implementations, and integration patterns
  • Support agile ceremonies within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews, while maintaining alignment with enterprise architecture standards
  • Design and validate complex SQL queries and stored procedures for data analysis and reporting requirements across Yardi, Snowflake, and Azure Synapse platforms
  • Develop proof-of-concept solutions and technical prototypes to validate proposed architectures and solutions

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Real Estate, Finance, or a related technical field required; advanced degree a plus.
  • Business Analysis certification (CBAP, CCBA) preferred.
  • Technical certifications in Azure, Snowflake, or related platforms highly valued.
  • 5+ years of technical business analysis experience in real estate technology or related fields.
  • Hands-on experience with Yardi modules and database structures.
  • Demonstrated experience with Azure cloud services (Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake).
  • Proven track record designing and documenting API integrations.
  • Experience implementing medallion architecture in enterprise data platforms.
  • Deep understanding of agile methodologies and SAFe framework.
  • Experience with data governance and security implementation.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL development across multiple platforms (T-SQL, Snowflake SQL), including complex query optimization and database design.
  • Strong understanding of React development principles and modern web architectures.
  • Advanced Power BI development experience, including DAX and data modeling.
  • Proficiency in modern software development practices, including version control, CI/CD, and testing methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of API design patterns and integration architectures.
