This role oversees all DART benchmarking group efforts and performs all associated activities to continuously measure, compare, and understand DARTβs performance against comparable peers to gain information to improve organizational performance.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads all benchmarking groups effort at DART. Gathers all data from benchmarking groups and ensures on time submissions. Conducts peer agency research on important topics facing DART.
Develops data repository of all benchmarking data working with Technology and other departments. Analyzes performance of DART against other peer agencies to extract insights. Presents and shares industry information and trends to DART leadership.
Responds to forum questions and shares peer agencies response to corresponding departments at DART.
Performs ad hoc data requests in relation to benchmarking group data.
Serves as the main point of contact for all benchmarking groups and relays any communication between Benchmarking groups, peer agencies, and DART staff. Relays feedback deemed beneficial to DART.
Collaborates with all internal departments to maximize the value of the benchmarking groups to DART.
Trains internal employees on benchmarking group data and websites. Manages access to internal employees.
Participates in benchmarking group meetings and conferences.
Serves as the subject matter expert with all accessible resources under the benchmarking group,
Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.
Bachelorβs degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Business Administration, Statistical Analysis or a related field.
Six (6) years professional experience including researching, benchmarking, and data analysis to include one (1) year experience in public transit.
Proficient in personal computer (PC) software applications such as Windows, Microsoft Office applications of Word and Excel, presentation, and database, or other related software applications.
High level of written and oral communication, analytical, and creative skills to find solutions to complex interpersonal, professional, technical, and administrative problems.
Knowledge and skilled working with statistics and detailed technical information, to include strategic planning, market research and business process improvement.
Ability to demonstrate a fiduciary responsibility to the section, division, department, and DART in handling confidential information and assets.
Extensive transit industry experience and have the ability to facilitate discussion amongst internal stakeholders, external consultants, and peer transit agencies.
Experience facilitating meetings and presenting complex information in a professional setting.
Ability to use time effectively and efficiently, to concentrate efforts on the more important priorities, and attend to a broad range of activities.
Ability to use rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions. Can see hidden problems. Is excellent at honest analysis. Looks beyond the obvious and does not stop at the first answers.
Ability to learn new skills, technical details, and industry-specific information quickly.
Pass a physical (medical) examination that includes a drug screen in order to operate DART non-revenue vehicles.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in an environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting DART's operating facilities, assuming incumbent is observing all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and using all protective clothing and devices provided.
