Position Purpose:
The Senior Financial Analyst, Core Merch Finance β Special Projects, plays a critical role in supporting the Core Merchandising organization, including Merch Finance Directors and the VP of Merch Finance. This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of market share data, leading consolidated monthly and quarterly merchandising reporting, supporting management incentive plan reporting, driving consolidated STATs planning, and addressing ad hoc analytical needs across the merchandising function.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detailβoriented, and able to work independently while collaborating closely with key partners across the business. This role influences strategic decisionβmaking through advanced financial analysis, insightful reporting, and strong business partnerships.
40% Planning, Forecasting, and Reporting - Lead the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly financial reports. Utilize advanced financial modeling techniques to create detailed forecasts and provide variance analysis to explain key financial trends. Deliver clear, comprehensive reporting to senior leadership, highlighting critical insights and potential risks. Support month end close processes.
30% Preparing and Delivering Insights - Develop and present financial analysis both visually and verbally to business leaders. Address projects and strategies, and answer questions through the lens of strong financial controllership. Provide actionable recommendations through a solid understanding of business operations and financial impacts resulting from decisions. Β
20% Cross-Functional Collaboration - Sr. Financial Analysts work closely with business leaders up to and including VPs to understand their business operations. They may also partner with stakeholders across finance and accounting operations to develop strong line of sight to financial inputs and outputs so that business and financial stories can be explained.Β
10% Project Based Analysis - Conduct detailed analyses for purposes of investment initiatives and capital allocation. Complete financial modeling to project βwhat ifβ scenarios, and explain underlying causes of possible metric variations.
