This is a full time opportunity in either our Nashville or Tampa office working a hybrid schedule.

Summary of the Sr. Staff Business Intelligence Engineer

The BI Engineer designs, tests and develops data sets through the use of BI tools, technologies and systems. Analyzes complex data requirements and develops technical and/or process solutions to meet business needs. Works collaboratively with technical and product management team in all phases of projects, potentially including requirements validation, QA Support, Development and Deployment Support.ย 

Responsibilities for the Sr. Staff Business Intelligence Engineer

  • Design, develop, implement and maintain data sets to support our Real World Data/Evidence (RWD/RWE) business needs, following BI development best practices and innovative use of appropriate technologies and systems
  • Work collaboratively with technical and product management teams to deliver technical solutions
  • Work effectively in all phases of application development projects, potentially including requirements validation, design, testing, development and deployment support
  • Execute ad hoc dimensional data modelling to create analytics models for internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide end-user support for RWD/RWE determination, including investigation and resolution of reported issues in a timely manner

Qualifications of the Sr. Staff Business Intelligence Engineerย 

  • Advanced work experience related to Real World Data/Real World Evidenceย 
  • Experience utilizing 837 healthcare claims and EMR data (nice to have: 835 remittance, chargemaster, SDOH, lab, biomarker/genetic testing, NCPDP D.0 pharmacy, imaging)ย 
  • Familiarity with RWD research including persistency, compliance, line of therapy, patient journey, epidemiology, market sizing, physician targetingย 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities of the Sr. Staff Business Intelligence Engineer

  • Knowledge of healthcare billing codes such as ICD, CPT, HCPCS, and NPIย 
  • Proven ability to translate high-level requirements into actionable development plans and drive execution to completion
  • 5+ years with data modeling and ETL Development tools (nice to have: Snowflake, DBT Core/Cloud, etc.)
  • Ideal exp. with Apache Airflow
  • Advanced SQL
  • R/Python development experienceย 
  • Hands-on experience in business intelligence, reporting, and analytics, with experience in creating algorithms, formulas and calculations
  • Advanced Knowledge of dimensional data modeling
