The Transportation Data Specialist assists other team members in maintaining office activities and works closely with everyone in the office to support drivers and schools.
Β
EssentialΒ FunctionsΒ and Responsibilities:
- The Transportation Data will report to the Transportation Supervisor
- This position will fill in for office staff when they are out driving bus routes
- This position will support the Field Trip/Dispatcher and Route Coordinators when they are off or out driving the bus.
- This position will work closely with both General Education and Special Education routing coordinators to enter, verify, and update route data.
- This position will work closely with the Field Trip/Dispatch Coordinator to invoice complete fieldΒ trips.Β
- This position will maintain and update bus driver route assignments in Routefinder Plus for publication to Stop Finder when a bus breaks down, or a different bus is used as a substitute for field trips.
Other Functions:
- Assists other personnel in supporting them to complete their work activities.
- Duties as otherwise assigned.
Job Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
- 18 years or older
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- PreviousΒ related experience is required
- Must be able to work independently and communicate with diverse groups
- Ability to work independently on routine tasks
- Ability to communicate
- Ability to meet and interact with Administrators, teachers, parents, and students with tact, courtesy and discretion
- Ability to utilize the Google suite of products
- Use of transportation software, including a transportation app
- Experience and knowledge with data entryΒ
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with various schools and departments
- Participate in transportation training procedures along with the state and local regulations governing transportation.
- Transportation knowledge preferred.
- Required Testing Certificates and Licensing (CDL)
- Pre-employment Medical Examination Commercial Driver's License with P Endorsement School Bus Driver's Certificate
- Air brake Certificate
- CPR/First Aid Certificate
- Maintain License/Certification Criminal Justice/Fingerprint Clearance Drug Screening
Working Environment:
- The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
