Application Support & Data Analyst

The Application Support & Data Analyst is responsible for the analysis, support, and ongoing optimization of enterprise business applications, including ERP, WMS, and other integrated systems. This role serves as a system and data subject‑matter expert, ensuring application stability, data integrity, and actionable insights that support business processes and decision making.

So, What’s the Gig? 

Application Support & System Ownership

  • Provide day‑to‑day application support for one or more enterprise systems, including ERP, WMS, and related integrated platforms.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned systems, independently researching and identifying root causes of application and data‑related issues when immediate solutions are not apparent.
  • Monitor system integrations and data flows, proactively troubleshooting and resolving issues to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
  • Act as the system champion, ensuring full utilization of system capabilities and adherence to best practices. 

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze application and operational data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Develop and maintain standard and ad‑hoc reports, dashboards, and KPIs using available reporting and analytics tools.
  • Partner with business users to translate operational and reporting needs into meaningful analytics solutions.
  • Support data validation and reconciliation efforts across integrated systems to ensure consistency and trust in reporting.
  • Utilize basic to intermediate SQL skills where applicable to query data and support analysis (training and development supported). 

System Analysis, Enhancement & SDLC

  • Analyze, implement, and support new and existing system modules, integrations, and reporting components.
  • Participate in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, functional design, testing, deployment, and post‑implementation support. 
  • Consult with stakeholders to gather requirements and assist in designing functional workflows and information flows.
  • Ensure processes and reporting are automated where possible, with appropriate error handling, monitoring, and redundancy. 

Maintenance, Testing and Security

  • Test, apply, and validate system patches, upgrades, and reporting changes in collaboration with end users.  
  • Create, implement, and enforce user access and data security policies.
  • Develop working knowledge of other business applications and data sources to provide backup support as needed. 

Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Serve as a liaison with third‑party vendors supporting enterprise applications, integrations, and reporting tools.
  • Review vendor invoices to verify accurate billing and delivery of contracted services.
  • Maintain clear, proactive communication with the user community regarding system issues, data concerns, enhancements, and project status. 

Training, Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Coach and train end users on system functionality, reporting tools, and data interpretation.
  • Develop and maintain end‑user documentation, reporting guides, and training materials.
  • Stay up to date on trends and new developments in application platforms, data analytics, and business processes.  

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Bachelors degree in Data Analytics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or another applicable field or equivalent experience. 
  • 0-2 years of experience supporting enterprise business applications (ERP, WMS, or similar systems)
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work with business users to understand processes and reporting needs
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills 

Other Skills and Abilities We’re Looking For: 

  • Experience writing or modifying SQL queries for reporting, troubleshooting, or data validation preferred
  • Familiarity with reporting or BI tools (e.g., Power BI, SSRS, Crystal Reports, Excel)
  • Understanding of data integration concepts and data quality principles
  • Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or logistics environment
