The Revenue Cycle Training, QI and Projects Department at the Wexner Medical Center functions as an integral member of the health care finance team to support the organizational goals while reflecting a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm and mutual respect. The department implements strategies to support such goals through education, feedback, root cause analysis , hands-on resolution and project management. The department also manages the organizations real time eligibility vendor which includes correcting coverage assignments to support clean claims and assist with the overall ideas for improvements, system enhancements and IT prioritization to support both hospital and physician billing.
Position Summary
Under general supervision, this position resolves, monitors, collects and reports on errors that prevent a clean claim from being sent to a payer. This position resolves errors and completes root cause analysis; works closely with revenue cycle analyst and end-users to identify optimization opportunities and works with end-users to prevent errors. This position must have a strong understanding of revenue cycle departments and processes. In addition, this position will assist in providing in class training for new staff and become certified under the direction of a principle trainer.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications
Bachelor degree in healthcare, education or applicable field required; 1-2 yrs of technical exp with Excel, Access databases and PowerPoint programs; 1-4 years exp in Revenue cycle depts (including and not limited to scheduling, registration and hospital or physician billing); ability to learn &utilize new application software & systems; Strong knowledge of the health insurance industry required; Communication & interpersonal skills required; Ability to collaborate with large groups desired; Able to demonstrate independence, self-initiative, thoroughness, attention to detail & learn new processes quickly & efficiently; Strong computer skills required; Ability to assist in educating or training others through classroom or other media desired.
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
