Job Summary:

Business Analyst Team Lead directs and manages assigned projects and team of Business Analysts in accordance with organizational policies and goals. Collaborate with other Leads and Managers to develop, administer, maintain, and support policies and procedures for creating business requirements from client existing and legacy systems to Geographic Solutions systems. Designs programming specifications through interaction with business owners and subject matter experts. Familiar with the standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the unemployment insurance and labor market industry as well as job services concepts. Rely on direction and good judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works under general supervision.


Β Β Viable candidates must be willing to work onsite at GSI's headquarters in Palm Harbor, Florida daily. Β Β 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the daily activities and workflow of other Business Analyst
  • Manage, motivate, and review the work of a group of Business Analysts
  • Manages assigned projects and team of Business Analysts in accordance with organizational policies and goals
  • Oversees, mentors, and is accountable for the implementation of project deliverables
  • Subject matter expertise of assigned area of responsibility and can provide mentorship to other staff
  • Assists other Team Leads, Managers, and/or Director with coordinating with other teams and departments to determine Business Analyst needs
  • Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved schedules
  • Analyze business and user needs, document requirements and translate both into proper specifications/Agile Requirements Document (ARD) for each project
  • Coordinate and meet with clients and business leaders, as well as work closely with software architects and development teams to identify and document the direction, scope, and dependencies of the project
  • Translate business requirements into concise system requirements for use by the software architects and development teams
  • Extensive understanding of multiple functional areas related to complex projects and the ability to identify and quantify business process improvements along with system improvements using technology is critical
  • Foster productive communication between technical and non-technical audiences to ensure that technological solutions fulfil business needs. Responsibilities include:Β 
  • Identify, document and diagram business requirements and processes,
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and practices,Β 
  • Assist with validation and testing of applications written to the design specification.Β 
  • Review and analyze team performance including:
  • Reviewing/monitoring team workload, productivity, and quality to ensure company deliverables are met.
  • Providing feedback to team members and keeping department leadership informed.
  • Identifying training/coaching opportunities and conducting or assisting with coordinating those trainings.
  • Complete annual reviews for team members within established timelines.
Requirements

Work Experience / Knowledge:

  • Possess advanced knowledge of both project management and the software development lifecycle (SDLC) of large-scale development projects
  • Minimum of 8 years of Business Analyst experience or equivalent combination of education and technical or industry experience (Workforce, UI, Adult Ed, Vocational Rehabilitation, etc.) in relationship to development and implementation of software solutions
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisor experience or minimum of 1 year of Business Analyst IV experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of industry experience in any of the following: Workforce, UI Benefits, Tax, Adult Education, VR, etc.
  • Experienced demonstrator/facilitator
  • Strong cross-functional understanding of program
  • Possess strong understanding of SQL server
  • Ability to demonstrate system functionality to internal and external audiences
  • Experience in requirements elicitation, writing design documents, creating test cases/scenarios and testing system functionality
  • Subject matter expert in one of the following:
  • Technical subject product
  • Programmatic experience
  • Systems experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • High level understanding of how to track data through the database as it relates to the application and when required federal reporting requirements
  • Strong understanding of application programming, database, and system design
  • Understanding of Internet, Intranet, Extranet, and client/server architectures
  • Ability to analyze system requirements relative to the base software functionality and configuration
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including MS Word and Excel
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with attention to detail

Qualifications / Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional and/or Agile Analysis Certification preferred

Special Requirements:

  • Required travel to visit client sites, attend National Conferences and/or assist in Marketing presentations which are assigned by Manager when appropriate
  • May also be assigned various projects and tasks as needed.
